General Functions

This position provides support for the mortgage lending activities of Cook Inlet Lending Center (CILC). The Mortgage Loan Processor/Originator (MLP/O) position requires the performance of a variety of loan service functions from loan origination through loan closing. The MLP/O for CILC will be responsible for loan origination and the review of loan files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensuring completeness of submission. This position acts as a liaison between external partners, realtors, underwriters, and clients to effectively begin the loan process and close loans. In addition to specific loan administrative functions, this position assists clients to recognize the value of our loan products and services through phone calls, email, direct meetings, social media, and educational forums.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

Comply with industry regulations and standards while performing a range of industry-specific administrative services related to mortgage lending and first and second mortgage loan origination and processing while meeting stringent underwriting requirements.

Originate purchase money second mortgages while supporting loan production with special emphasis on quality customer service.

Expedite documentation timely and accurately to ensure processing time frames are met and production standards and goals are achieved.

Communicate and coordinate with originators and borrowers for the collection of documentation and information to meet stipulations/conditions, manage and coordinate the inflow and outflow of employment verifications, title reports, and rental and mortgage verifications.

Verify all information received in the mortgage loan application via written documentation to employers, banks, creditors, etc.

Review processed loan packages prior to submission to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Maintain customer correspondence, commitment letters, disclosures/re-disclosure requirements, loan estimates, closing disclosures, statistical and accounting information and any agency and/or investor specific documents at a basic to intermediate level.

Order any pertinent reports or data needed to submit to underwriting and obtain approval.

Respond to Quality Control and Loan Delivery requests within specified time lines and as directed.

Organize and maintain company and departmental filing and database systems, both manually and in specialized systems such as MortgageFlex, RLS.net, LoanQuest, Vista Outcome Tracker, and CIMS”an archival system for corporate records. Assist with maintenance and audits of records.

Address stakeholder(s) concerns and inquiries quickly, professionally and courteously.

Make appointments for intake with clients in order to explain the down payment assistance program and determine income eligibility.

Prepare wire requests, supply requisitions, and expense reports as needed.

Perform other related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to create, nurture and sustain external partner relationships within the professional real estate and banking communities.

Analytical abilities related to organization of data, reports, and basic statistical analyses using appropriate computer programs.

Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Demonstrated competencies with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, or other databases at a high level of proficiency, including the development of charts, graphs, and presentations.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

Valid Alaska Drivers License

Education and Experience

Associates degree from an accredited college or minimum three years experience in loan processing/origination or retail banking may be substituted.

NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator License or be willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Must have ready knowledge of real estate documents, loan processing, and industry terminology.

Must know how to navigate internet resources related to UCC and real estate filings, property information, and property listings.
