The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator ensure the rental readiness of the Rental fleet. This includes managing the equipment flow process after a rental is complete, ensuring the equipment yard is well organized, working with Parts and Service Departments to ensure machines are repaired in a timely fashion, prioritizing repairs based on demand and making sure all safety policies and procedures are followed as required by the Safety Department.
Essential Job Duties:
Reduce/minimize the cost of repairing rental equipment:
Be aware of Parts ordering/procurement process
Develop priority list for repairs needed
Make Repair decisions based on diagnosis of Service Department or Rental employee
Monitor Rental PM Process
Manage all customer damage of rental equipment
Manage all issues related to theft/fire damage for rental equipment
Make decisions on what repairs are done by the Service Department and what are done by Rental Technicians
Monitor and coordinate the PMs of rental machines:
Monitor the PM due list and make decisions on whether PMs are needed or should be skipped
Coordinate PMs in the field when needed by working with Service Department
Follow-up on any machine overdue
Work with Rental Sales on any machine that cannot be located
Analyze machine data to determine the correct course of action:
Analyze Fleet Data based on maintenance/revenue ratio
Make suggestions on fleet retirement based on R.O.I
Assist in developing additional metrics in managing fleet maintenance
Analyze actual maintenance versus allocated maintenance
Complete all required inspections and site visits for the Safety Department:
Ensure all Rental employees follow all applicable safety policies
Complete all required facility inspections required by the Safety Department
Work with Safety Department on any accident investigations
Ensure all Rental personnel at the branch are following any safety policies and assist in getting inspections done in a timely manner
Ensure equipment yard and warehouses are well organized and free of hazards
Other duties:
Assist in managing Rental Department expenses
Work with Building Maintenance Manager on any facility needs
Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum 21 years of age
Clean driving record
Above average communication skills to include: two-way radios, phones, and e-mail
Strong organization skills not limited to: parts, equipment, accessories, batteries, buckets, trailers, etc.
Ability to read and following instructions
Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
Ability to self-motivate which is required to stay on track, maintain organization, and make continuous progress
Ability to learn proper equipment operation on various types of material handling and construction equipment
Mechanical background preferred
Ability to manage and coach subordinates and provide exceptional leadership in a team environment
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
College degree preferred
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
This position will be working at branch facilities mostly outdoors with the potential of traveling to customer locations.
The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
The normal auto hazards will apply.
This position will be frequently operating equipment with potential hazard.
Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds on a frequent basis.
Must be able to push/pull up to 80 pounds.
Position requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing and crawling.
Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.
Position may require driving truck to and from customer locations or other branch locations on occasion.
Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
