We are looking for a highly-motivated worker with customer service and sales experience who possesses a strong work ethic and an optimistic approach to each challenge. Our teammates need to be independent and reliable as it is a small group who run this location. The store celebrates beautiful and useful things for the home and garden, The Gardener offers a refreshing shopping experience for city dwellers and visitors seeking uniquely-crafted tabletop, cooking, dining, and garden items — from garden tools and baskets, to handmade ceramics and linens, to distinctive furniture. The merchandise changes with the seasons. New employees will learn about the merchandise we offer and serve the diverse clients at this exciting San Francisco landmark.
The Gardener is looking to fill approximately 20 hours, three days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday. If you are willing to cross the bay, our Berkeley store may have a shift or two for you as well. Flexibility to add hours to cover for your co-workers' vacation time is a plus. We will try to help cover your requested time off, too!
-Sales experience is preferred, but we are willing to provide training. We know that experience in other fields could translate into being an excellent fit.
-The Ferry Building is an exciting location to work in. It is home to a thriving marketplace with Farmer's Markets a few times a week. We serve a group of loyal locals and visiting tourists.
-The Ferry Building is a designated transit center and employees are expected to follow all safety standards that are required. This includes all regulations regarding Covid 19 Mask Mandates.
-We offer regular shifts and opportunities to grow.
- You must be reliable as our staff is small. You must be able to lift 30 lbs and move our wheeled display tables.
-In addition to working with the public, some of the duties that are required of the Retail Sales position include: using the register, gift wrapping, restocking, display rebuilding, opening and closing the store, cleaning, plant maintenance, and receiving deliveries.
