Small east bay garden care company seeks an experience part to full time gardener (3-5 days/week) to join our crew. We're looking for someone who is passionate about gardening and committed to a career in horticulture. Must be a team player who loves to work outdoors, take initiative and have fun while working hard.
Typical work days include:
- weeding, pruning, mulching, integrated pest management, and irrigation system management (testing, minor repairs, and controller programming) in 2-4 small residential gardens per day.
- Identifying seasonally appropriate garden care tasks, note taking, communicating with the garden care team, supervisors and clients are all part of the job.
- Occasional small garden installations including soil preparation, grading, planting, irrigation installation, lighting installation and mulching.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years minimum residential or commercial gardening experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Reliable, prompt, and able to work hard
- Able to lift 50 lbs multiple times in a day
- A positive attitude and sense of humor
- A willingness to learn and a desire to do quality work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Good customer service skills and professional communication with clients
- Own reliable transportation and smartphone. A truck is a plus
- Proficient in English, Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Experience with landscape construction, masonry, carpentry, metal work a plus
