Position: Lead Farm Equipment Operator
Pay: $16.00 +/hour DOE
Full time job with large rice growing company in Colusa area. Must have mechanical and farm background with experience operating large farm equipment for cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting. Required skills also include the ability to operate newer equipment with GPS, auto steer and equipment monitors and possess the ability to accomplish repair and maintenance duties on farm equipment.
Job Function:
Oversight and responsibility for supervising farm employees and to insure that all farm equipment is operational and working to meet the needs of the farming operation. (Mechanic for farm operations)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects, maintains repairs, assembles, overhauls farm machinery, all equipment, vehicles and other mechanized equipment.
Maintains high safety standards.
Maintains high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.
All other duties as assigned.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Committed to safety with the ability to enforce safety policies and regulations.
Extensive background in either rice farming or almond and walnut orchard development.
Strong marketing skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual a plus.
Team oriented with good supervisory abilities.
Education and Experience:
Must have three to five (5) years farm experience.
Physical Requirements:
Will be required to stand, stoop, bend, twist, reach and/or kneel.
May be required to move or lift supplies up to fifty (50) pounds.
The noise level in this environment is usually moderate to loud.
May be exposed to various seasonal elements such as rain, wind, cold and heat in excess of 90ï°.
Licensing Requirements:
Must possess a valid California Driver's license.
