A local DC Area food service contractor is seeking a professional individual to assist in the execution of Catering events to join our team. This individual must meet the following:
Catering Coordinator
Job Requirements:
Successful Candidate must pass a Background Clearance.
Empathetic Communicator with Servant Leadership Skills.
Detail-Oriented and Exceptional Organizational Skills
2 years minimum working hands on with BEOs
Hard working reliable person who believes in exceptional customer service, ownership, & developing associates at all levels.
Team player with an upbeat personality able to work in a fast-paced environment
Desire to make events look presentable
Reliable transportation to DC
Tasks:
Assist in setup/breakdown of various events
Managing orders and following up on daily client emails
Gathering necessary products to ensure proper setup of events
Assisting in garnishing and plattering of cold menu items
Must be willing to pitch in and work as a team as needed with other staff members
Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided.
Ensuring a flawless presentation of all serving ware, urns, serving platters, etc
Lifting minimum 25 lbs
Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
Communication:
Possess excellent written & verbal command of the English Language
Experience in the Restaurant and/or Hospitality Industry a plus.
Bilingual Skills a plus.
Catering Chef
Job Requirements:
Successful Candidate must pass a Government Background Clearance with no records of misdemeanors or drugs and a good credit check.
Completion of Higher Education in Culinary Arts
Valid Serve Safe or similar Food Safety Certification

3-5 Years' Experience effectively managing catering kitchens
Has managed a staff of over 20 people in restaurants, catering, fastfood, food courts &/ institutional or government food service operations
Job Summary:
Plans and translates menus to team members.
Organizes, leads, and motivates the Associates.
Plans staff shifts and catering events.
Establishes and budgets financial targets and forecasts
Monitors the quality of the product and service provided
Keeps financial, invoicing, and administrative records
Maintains stock levels and orders new supplies as required
Liaises with suppliers and clients
Negotiates contracts with customers, assesses their requirements and ensures they are satisfied with the service delivered (in contract catering)
Oversees the management of facilities, e.g. checking event bookings and allocation of resources/staff
Plans new promotions and initiatives, and contributes to business development
Deals with staffing and client issues in a calm yet urgent manner.
Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the industry such as menus, trends in consumer tastes and management issues
Maintains a positive working environment for both internal and external customers.
Orders and does inventory of all products
Skills:
Proven solid control over profit & loss operations through cost management and prevention
One who is not afraid to make a decision while possessing exceptional Business Math, Accounting, Spreadsheet, Email and Strong Analytical Skills
Keep accurate records of employees & inventory
Empathetic Communicator who can delegate tasks & keep calm under pressure
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Possess excellent written & verbal command of the English Language
Bilingual Skills a plus
