Law firm looking to hire an experienced practice administrator/bookkeeper for a part-time position for an estate planning, elder law, and probate litigation firm.

Job Description

This position handles the oversight of the processes in our law practice and facilitates bookkeeping and billing. This position works with every person on the law firm team, including attorneys. This is a new position. Self-direction is essential.

Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, be comfortable following a systematic process, be comfortable managing and communicating with staff and attorneys, and be a good problem solver. Candidate should have a friendly, professional demeanor and be able to clearly communicate with others as this position interacts with both the public and the internal practice team on a daily basis. Further, this person needs a strong level of accountability and attention to detail.

This can be a career position for a self-motivated person who pays attention to detail and is task-oriented.

Position Skills and Experience

Candidates need to be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable using software to schedule appointments. Knowledge of billing and calendar software a plus but not required. Work experience with references in a similar field for a minimum of 2 years is preferred together with work experience in an office setting.

Candidates with no prior experience but a willingness to learn and commensurate education or experience will still be considered by the firm.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Calendaring for attorneys and staff

Ordering supplies and equipment

Scheduling office maintenance

Client billing/bookkeeping

Back-up receptionist

Managing the law practices calendar

Run administrative or personal errands for the attorneys and team as needed

Run reports on all client matters, billing

Consistently monitor case workflow, ensuring all cases are moving forward, and the attorney is updated with

any potential delays or complications

Prioritize time sensitive issues and help team members move cases forward
