Volt is seeking an enterprise level Linux administrator with Advanced Scripting experience, the candidate must have deep experience deploying, operating, maintaining and supporting RedHat and/or Ubuntu Servers.The successful candidate must possess the ability to work well in a distributed team environment. The candidate should be of a highly ethical, trustworthy and reliable nature. The ability to utilize our ServiceNow system to adhere to rigid ITIL based change and release control processes and procedures are critical. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate superior analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interact with varying levels of customers, staff, and management.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate will have 3-5 years of experience administering and optimizing Linux OS ServersProvisioning, Operation, and Maintenance of Linux Servers.Development of Ansible/Shell Scripts for automation of routine tasks.Work with DBA team to troubleshoot database connectivity issues (Oracle, MYSQL).Troubleshoot network connection issues using network tools and enterprise logging tools.Provide high-level technical assistance to application development teams with deployments and troubleshooting services.Coordinating with VMware team / Storage team on additional disk, CPU, Memory requests.Work with Application and Engineering team on projects and initiatives.Develop documentation as necessary for knowledge sharing within the teamOn Call/Off Hours availabilityBASIC QUALIFICATIONSHeavy Experience in Shell or Python scripting.RHEL 6/7 and/or Ubuntu 16/18 configuration, operation, performance tuning, troubleshooting and management experience.Basic knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAPWorking experience with networked storage (NAS, SAN) conceptsStrong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independentlyAbility to work closely with developers to assist in troubleshooting web servicesSelf-motivated and able to work independently.Ability to work within a structured change management process for highly available enterprise systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Ansible automationExperience with PowerBroker for the elevation of privilegesExperience in vulnerability managementExperience with other automation tools (puppet or chef, etc.)Experience with GitHubExperience with Docker ContainerizationThis is a contingent/temporary position offered through Volt Workforce Solutions.
