Job Description: Director of Events and Marketing
Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation Package: $30k-$40k/yr
Time Requirement: Full-time with regular weekend, evening, and holiday hours. M-F, 8a-5p, with some hours based on events and organizational needs.

Role Summary:
The Director of Events and Marketing is responsible for the overall coordination of all events held at The DEC. They provide professional client service support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the venue. This individual will also oversee the management of event expenses to budget, develop a strategic business plan and generate new business, communicate and build relationships with current and new customers, and promote the growth of The DEC.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Directs and supervises events and event staff.
Directs and supervises non-technical event operations including but not limited to, set-up, housekeeping and changeover.
Meets and consults with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events
Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events
Guides clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies and procedures
Keeps clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details
Responsible for communicating event details to all required internal and external contacts to ensure events are effectively coordinated to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing.
Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements
Oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
Monitors and supervises facility set-up when necessary
Produces event orders, reports, diagrams, etc., outlining event requirements concerning facilities, equipment, catering needs, etc.
Monitors in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events.
Follows-up on all client requests, concerns, and problems
Ensures customer satisfaction throughout event planning process and during event.
Assists in annual budget preparation
Prepares reports of monthly event activities
Develops standard operating procedures for the Event Services Department and monitors their compliance.
Develop marketing strategy that is in line with company values
Develop, implement and oversee companys marketing/PR strategy
Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans
Monitor and report effectiveness of marketing communication
Build relevant audiences for digital advertising campaigns
Create and manage new leads and guests
Set sales and marketing KPIs and ensure they are on track for achievement
Participate in lead role within the company and help in achieving overall business goals and growth
Regularly maintain personal and business relationships
Assist with various special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Must have a track record of building and maintaining healthy relationships
Bachelors degree in business, marketing and sales, or other related field
Transformative approach to leadership that inspires and empowers others
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
Solid computer skill and awareness of web-based marketing and social media
Exceptional understanding of sales and marketing
Demonstrated experience managing and planning events and outreach, including developing budgets, publicity and communication strategies, generating reports, tracking data and maintaining databases.
Solid organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate several projects simultaneously with demanding timeframes.
