Basic Function: The primary responsibility of this position includes general housekeeping duties, performing classroom, conference, and special event set-ups as directed. Secondary responsibilities are to assist with Grounds department or Building Maintenance department functions as necessary to provide a flexible position within a team environment. The work schedule is Sunday hours 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday hours from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Clean and maintain the facilities to established standards. a. This specific task requires several types of cleaning skill levels and the ability to utilize related equipment efficiently. Included are vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, shampooing, collecting and removing all recyclables and trash, and operating motorized floor buffers and scrubbers.

Assist in the preparation and clean-up for classroom, conference, and special events as needed to meet customer satisfaction. a. This specific task requires good custodial and time management skills.

Assemble, repair, move and deliver miscellaneous furniture and equipment. a. This specific task requires the ability to follow product specific instructions for proper assembly. b. This task also requires good dexterity and basic mechanical skills. c. At times, heavy lifting will be required.

Assist the Grounds Supervisor or Building Maintenance Supervisor with miscellaneous duties as assigned. a. This specific task requires the ability to assist with snow removal, mowing, washing vehicles, trash pick-up, or other tasks as assigned. b. This task also requires the ability to assist with minor repairs of building components, misc. equipment and accessories (i.e, replacing light bulbs, mounting boards, etc.) or other tasks as assigned.

Use and care for equipment properly, including regular and preventative maintenance. a. This specific task requires that all equipment be routinely inspected and any problems reported to the Custodial Supervisor.

Follow all safety codes, regulations, and established procedures. a. It is required to comply with all local and national codes. Safety updates and training programs will be provided and attendance be mandatory. b. Use appropriate products to the advantage of the College, and handle all hazardous chemicals properly following product specific instructions.

Work overtime as assigned. a. This general statement is to recognize that with this position mandatory overtime is present for snow removal, special events, and set-ups.

Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be dependable, possess good work habits, and have a the ability to get along well with people. This position requires a valid driver's license. Physical Qualifications: Lift, carry, push, and pull objects which weigh up to 50 pounds frequently and heavier objects occasionally (i.e, furniture, supplies, trash containers, and equipment). Bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, along with considerable walking and standing is required. Equipment Used: Ability to efficiently use floor care machines and equipment, along with miscellaneous hand tools, power tools, ladders, forklift, platform lift, snow removal equipment, and pickup truck.
