BRB Contractors, Inc. in Topeka, Kansas, a premier contractor that's been in business for nearly sixty (60) years constructing water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the mid-west is seeking an Accounting Assistant to provide extraordinary assistance in their operations. The person must have excellent computer skills, the ability to be a self-starter, and pay strong attention to detail. This position will be working in areas of Accounting, Employee Benefits, and Payroll Processing. Viable candidates will have a high level of experience and knowledge in those areas with a willingness to learn the rest.
We are looking for an energetic person who wants to call BRB home. The right candidate will have a degree in accounting, be familiar with GAAP principals and be willing to train to take over as controller if/when the need arises.
Accounting Assistant Job Responsibilities: (full list available during interview)
Serve as construction software package system administrator
Maintain all A/R functions and processing
Maintain and reconcile general ledger and job cost entries that assists in month-end and fiscal year-end closing
Review and code office utility bills, cell phone bills, insurance invoices for corporate insurance
Prepare daily bank deposits and track daily cash position
Review and approve A/P invoices that are scheduled to be paid each week
Reconcile and generate payroll year-end process: W-2s, 1095Cs
Setup and maintain Davis-Bacon projects fringe benefits
Maintain and reconcile 401(k) files, spreadsheets, census reports
Order office supplies
Backup to Payroll Clerk
Backup to A/P Clerk
Assist Controller
