Affordable Moving is a locally owned and operated moving company based out of Wichita, KS and we are currently seeking movers and drivers. We primarily provide local moving services but do travel out the state of Kansas for some moving jobs (less than 5%)
Base pay is $15 per hour for drivers and $12 per hour for movers (after training); any tips that are received from well satisfied customers are yours to keep.
Job Requirements
THIS JOB IS A LABOR INTENSIVE JOB! YOU MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 150LBS AND HAVE STAMINA TO LIFT HEAVY ITEMS REPEATEDLY WHILE CLIMBING, BALANCING, KNEELING, CROUCHING, WALKING, ETC
Experience in fields of general labor, landscaping, construction or warehouse is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate
Reliable Transportation
Ability to work at least 2 weekends per month (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8am-6pm)
Must have a cell phone or email for job assignments and communication
Ability to pass a drug and background check
Good hand-eye coordination
Job Responsibilities
Carrying household and small office items, boxes and furniture of different weights and sizes
Loading and unloading items, boxes, and furniture into and out of straight box truck
Packing typical items in homes and offices
Wrapping and prepping furniture to be loaded and moved
Dis-assembling and re-assembling of furniture items
Friendly and professional customer interaction
Excellent customer service

Valid Drivers License
Good Driving Record (Clean 3 year MVR)
Leading 2 to 3 man moving crew
Properly stacking the truck
Strong logic and mathematical skills (able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals). Ability to perform calculations using units of dollars, weight, volume, distance, and time.
Making sure all tools are returned and replaced on the truck before and after each move
Ensuring all cleaning and maintenance checklists are complete before and after each move
