Job Purpose

Oversees benefit programs include but not limited to: medical/dental, income protection, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, leave of absence.

Acts as liaison between employees, insurance providers and to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.

Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed (e.g. correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry, etc.).

H2A experience.

Assist with processing weekly payroll

Essential Functions:

BENEFITS

Review enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinates enrollment with third-party administrator.

Coordinates health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs.

Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Conducts New Hire Orientation.

Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion and ensures proper approvals. Records related to hiring, transferring, promoting and terminating.

Prepares paperwork required to place employees on payroll and establishes personnel file.

Maintains company employee directory.

Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the Company and services performed.

Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Acts as a resource for Facility Payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefits and HR policies and regulations.

PAYROLL

Maintains Time and attendance in Paychex.

Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Distribute weekly the checks accordingly.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bilingual in Spanish a must

2. H2A Experience

3. Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

4. Five years of progressive experience in Human Resources position.

5. Minimum of two years’ experience administering employee benefit plans in the health and welfare areas.

6. Must have computer skills and some knowledge of HRIS system (Paychex). Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point.

7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

8. Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.

9. Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.
