Carnivorous Plant Nursery, Smithsburg Maryland
Starting now at $11.00/hour 3 days/week
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays; 9-4
Do you love working with plants and staying busy? This position offers the opportunity to work with the owner on a variety of tasks from greenhouse to outdoor work including: fulfilling orders, potting, watering, weeding, and propagating. Work with plants that eat insects.
Job Functions:
Assist with customer orders in selecting, packing in a proper and timely manner.
Assist with the proper potting and maintenance of plants.
Assist with propagation techniques for multiplying plants.
Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Ensure work areas and tools are always maintained in a clean and safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to stay on task and work independently.
Ability to walk, bend, stoop and climb stairs.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate, be friendly and work well with others.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather.
Be reliable in attendance and punctuality.
Education and Experience:
Training provided.
Working knowledge of plants and gardening preferred.
Previous plant nursery experience helpful.
