Description:seeking a dynamic individual as an electronic design engineer in support of Laser Division's ongoing development of innovative ultrafast laser systems. They will work with a team of engineers focusing on photonic product development, where this engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, custom PCB design and bring-up, integrating third-party components, cabling and cable drawings, working with vendors, and compliance testing. The successful candidate is expected to work with a minimum of supervision in a fast-paced environment and to simultaneously handle multiple projects. In addition to these duties, this candidate will be expected to take part in training other engineers.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years (ideally 10 years) on designing electrical circuits from concept, and all the way to PCB layout. That includes having experience in all the following steps of the design:o Sketching out system diagram based on system requirements.o Conceptual design of analog (amplifiers, voltage convertors and regulators, current sources, etc.) or digital (CPLD, micro-controller, ADC/DAC, etc,) circuits to meet system-level requirements.o Selecting individual components for the design based on component datasheets.o Performing simulations to validate the design.o Schematic capture for the final design through PCB design tools, preferably Altium (but other tools acceptable).o PCB layout design using Altium or other PCB layout design tool.o Hands-on testing and validation of the PCBs.About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
