The Hungry Moose Market and Deli is the premier wine shop of Big Sky. From case stacks of great value wines to top end selections from around the world, our market in the Town Center is a wine lovers surprise. Our store at the base of Big Sky Resort is smaller but the wine section offers enormous variety.
Both locations also offer a huge selection of traditional beers, popular imports, regional microbrews plus all of the latest trends in malt-based beverages. In addition to all of this beer and wine, The Moose offers and sells an extensive variety of non-alcoholic beverages.
To keep up with all of this liquid at two locations, we are looking for a Beverage Manager. This is a great position for someone with a budding interest in wine.
OVERVIEW:
The Beverage Manager position requires an individual with a passion for wine and beer, a high level of attention to detail, self-motivation, high energy, and excellent communication skills. An ideal candidate will have at least a year of experience in the beverage industry, either retail or service, and a strong desire for continued learning. The Beverage Manager will be responsible for working with vendors to select products, maintain proper margin on both new and existing products, communicate with staff regarding merchandising and maintenance of beverage section, and build relationships with customers, particularly long-term wine customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with vendors to maintain wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage sections
Stay up to date on industry news and continued education
Work with staff to maintain organization, cleanliness, and merchandising of beverages
Build relationships with regular customers, especially beer and wine customers
Help guide new staff who may be interested in learning more about beer and wine
Be a part of overall grocery team to ensure smooth operations of all aspects of store
Qualifications
At least 1 year in a beverage industry (although a solid foundation of beverage knowledge, passion for the industry, and focus on continued learning are most important)
At least 1 year in a customer service role, as this is the primary focus of the Hungry Moose
Ability to be part of a positive, dynamic team environment
Highly organized with a great attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, which are critical for both smooth product ordering and working with customers and staff
