Non-profit research archive in Hamilton, New Jersey, near Princeton, has an immediate need for a part-time (3 days a week) Editor and Administrative Assistant with strong organizational, communication and computer skills.
The successful candidate should have the ability to multitask, with knowledge of the Mac Operating System and programs including Microsoft Office and content management systems (CMS).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- strong editing and rewriting skills;
- general administrative, keyboarding and external communications;
- manage archive and accounting databases;
- transfer audio and video materials into digital format;
- transcribe cassette tapes and MP3 to Word format;
- extensive scanning of documents and photographs;
-rehouse archival documents
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree;
Minimum 5 years of editing/rewriting experience;
Strong administrative and organizational skills;
Excellent written and communication skills;
A friendly outgoing personality and a "can do" mentality;
Ability to meet deadlines.
