Salary Grade: NC14 / Salary Range: $49,158.00 - $86,026.00Hiring Range $79,955-$82,754 Position will serve as Survey Party Chief in District 1 Construction office in Henderson County, NC. Duties include performing survey work on complex construction projects, supervising survey crews and lower-level technicians, making independent decisions, and communicating effectively with co-workers, contractor's personnel, and the general public. When contract surveying is utilized, the Survey Party Chief will be responsible for reviewing the contractor’s survey submittals and providing checks of their construction layouts in the field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / CompetenciesApplicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:

Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors and GPS equipment

Experience with mathematical functions including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

Experience in performing highway construction stakeouts

Experience in conducting independent, moderately complex surveying

Computer experience including office software and drafting software

Additional Expectations:Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures. This position will be exposed to outside environmental hazards, confined areas, and may be required to work at night and on weekends.
