SKYCATCHFIRE designs and develops clever websites and applications for big brands you've heard of and small companies with big ideas. Founded in 2010, SKYCATCHFIRE is a team of designers and developers in Canton, Ohio who get excited about solving problems by designing and coding creative solutions.
== Position Summary ==
An experienced Frontend Web Developer will be able to jump into our workflow and be able to immediately start building along side the rest of the team. We're building fully responsive, great looking sites and utilities, and doing our best to one-up ourselves with each project we launch. We care just as much about the process of how we build solutions as we do about the end result.
In this position, you will work on a team with other skilled web developers and constantly be challenged with interesting problems. We're all passionate about learning new technologies and techniques so you'd be learning and contributing a lot in a very collaborative setting.
A typical day may go something like this
Roll in around 9am. Most days the crew will walk down to Muggswigz to grab some coffee (or tea some of us are trying to be "clean"). Normally we'll be talking about the latest decent tv show or how horrible the Cavs are this year.
The music playing at the shop could be anything from metal to rap. We don't judge. Unless it sucks.
Back at your desk (or couch) you'd fire up VS Code on your MBP, spin up your latest project with `npm run debug` and get to work on building some of the coolest sites for the coolest clients, brands, and products.
Throughout the day you'd be submitting PRs to Github, moving cards in Trello, checking in with multiple teams on Slack, and throwing new tracks on the office Sonos (RIIIIP).
Around lunch, if it's not freezing outside, we might walk down to the patio at Winking Lizard for some sun, food, and maybe a brew.
To stave off a food coma, it might be time to switch to a different project for the rest of the day. There's never a shortage of cool things to work on.
Around 4 or 5 we start talking about Royal Docks and how soon we can cut out for the day to grab a pint. Ok. Being honest this doesn't happen often. But it's a dream we would like to keep alive.
== Skill Requirements ==
Strong desire to learn new technology and methodology - We are constantly tweaking our process and we need someone that can contribute ideas to how we can improve the way we work.
HTML/CSS/JS - obviously
Git - Github is a big part of our workflow
SASS - If you know LESS, you can learn SASS but we'll ask what has taken you so long.
Cornhole (In case we regretfully join another bar league)
Detail oriented with the ability to take a task from start to finish
== Bonus Points ==
Bootstrap - not for design but for efficiency and standardization. We use pieces and parts of it.
Drupal - most of our sites are Drupal and even those that are Angular are sometimes powered by Drupal via Services API.
Angular - If it's not a Drupal site it's probably built using Angular.
Shopify - This has been our go-to platform for e-commerce sites.
