Bay Mechanical and Electrical Corporation, recognized as an Accredited Quality Contractor through the Associated Builders and Contractors, ten-time winner of the Diamond Safety Award, and numerous awards for Excellence in Construction, is searching for an experienced Mechanical/HVAC estimator. The position has the responsibility of developing bids and proposals in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate should possess effective written and verbal communication skills and have a strong work ethic. They should have the ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team. They must pay attention to details, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Some specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Take off and interpret drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and estimate requirements
Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings
Perform material takeoff and subcontractor requirements
Prepare detailed estimates of mechanical and HVAC systems and equipment (boilers, chillers, etc).
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
CAD a plus
Strong background in all types of mechanical and HVAC systems
Working knowledge of HVAC system controls
The qualified candidate should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, independent, and able to work with minimal assistance and supervision.
The candidate MUST be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug/alcohol screen.
