Chip Truck Drivers
This position requires operating a diesel or gas powered chip truck to and from various work sites, driving on and off the highway.
The driver must be able to secure trailer using tarps and binders.
Placement of chains on the tires may be required during winter driving.
Various visual inspections and safety checks must be done, such as overall visual inspection of the truck and trailer, adjusting the brakes, raising the hood to check water, oil and the engine compartment.
Requirements include:
Daily inspection of truck equipment for safety
Preventative maintenance of truck
Documentation of all loads
Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A
Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standards.
