Cowhorn Vineyard & Garden is seeking a server for part-time work. Weekends are essential with the possibility of more hours for special events. As a Tasting Room Associate, you will be responsible for providing our guests and members with an exceptional experience while tasting our wines, educating them about our winemaking process, and promoting Cowhorn’s ethos. You will be an ambassador for our winery, and your positive attitude and passion for wine will be key in ensuring our guests have a memorable visit. The ideal candidate will possess a multi-tasking, can-do attitude, have deep experience in luxury wines as well as winery hospitality at the highest level, be exceedingly well presented, organized and creative, team-minded, provide exemplary customer service, be sales driven, and successfully execute sales efforts on a consistent basis.

Tasting Room Associate Requirements & Duties:
Maintain wine knowledge at the highest level, or have willingness to learn!
Execute high-end, luxury level wine presentations, tastings and food pairings.
Exhibit attention to detail and be service minded.
Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of Cowhorn, our biodynamic farming methods and the wine we produce and be able to effectively communicate this to a variety of customers.
Effectively suggests and sells wine to guests in the tasting room and at events and is a believer that our wine club can benefit every guest.
Comfortably and strategically sell allocation allotments and multi-level wine clubs.
Accurately handles routine purchase transactions.
Assist customers with carrying out purchases to their vehicles when necessary.
Wash and polishes glassware for tasting room.
Maintain the appearance of the tasting room, including daily cleaning list.
Answer and manage incoming phone calls.
Ability to take direction and feedback from manager.
Experience and/or Skills:
Must be 21 years of age or older and have their OLCC and food handler’s license.
Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.
Minimum two years retail, food/beverage and/or tasting room experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Passionate about wine & food pairing and presentation.
Exceedingly strong presentation and interpersonal abilities.
Possess the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with clientele.
Excellent phone and in-person communication skills with customers and team members.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, social media, and experience in WineDirect a significant plus.
Self-motivated team player who is highly organized and meets deadlines.
Work Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds; stand and/or walk consistently.
Must be able to work in a wide range of temperatures and work conditions.
An employee in this position will be performing a wide variety of tasks requiring attention to detail, calmness, and creativity in dealing with employees and customers, and the ability to think and react quickly under pressure.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules; some evenings may be required.
Must adhere to all company policies and safety practices.
Work Environment:
The tasting room is a non-smoking work environment. Employees working in the tasting room are asked to not smoke during a workday and be free from any aroma that may be associated with smoking. While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually works in the tasting room with moderate noise levels, music, heavy people traffic, food & wine aromas, and dogs.
