Post Doctoral Associate (Ahmari) Med-Psychiatry - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24003753)The Ahmari Lab within the Translational Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a postdoctoral associate interested in examining the neurobiological mechanisms of obsessive-compulsive disorder and other compulsive behaviors and anxiety in rodents. Approaches used by the Ahmari Lab to better understand the brain circuitry underlying compulsive behavior include mouse behavior, one-photon calcium imaging, fiber photometry, optogenetics, and in vivo electrophysiology. The lab also emphasizes the translation of findings from rodents into clinical practice. A successful candidate will work independently on research projects with supervision from the Principal Investigator and collaboratively within a collegial team committed to diversity, equity, and inclusivity.Requirements are:

Doctorate in neuroscience, psychology, biology, or related field.

3-5 years of experience/exposure and a commitment to research.

Candidates are expected to have advanced written and oral communication skills.

Previous research experience in studying translational neuroscience or biological psychiatry is preferred, and we are also interested in candidates with experience or expertise in calcium imaging, mouse behavior, and/or computational biology.
