Hidden Harbor in Squirrel Hill is hiring now for your next job. Hidden Harbor is a locally and nationally recognized tropical drinks destination, celebrated for its modern take on the American tiki tradition and its extraordinary attention to details. (Best New Bar, Pittsburgh Magazine, 2016; Best Cocktail List, Pittsburgh City Readers’ Poll, 2017-21; 14 Best Tiki Bars in the US, Mashed, 2022). We also offer a deep list of over 560 bottlings of rum, with a rum club, the Dead Parrots Society. As we prepare for the return of outdoor seating on our covered back patio, we are hiring at the position of bartender on our talented, woman-led team. Experience is strongly preferred, and with it, excellent technique and technical chops, but most important are exceptional hospitality instincts and a genuine passion for food and drinks. Tropical cocktail bartending is really craft cocktail bartending on steroids: more touches and more garnishes, but with it, more creativity and more opportunity to create surprise and delight.
Hourly base wages are commensurate with experience. Total hourly compensation routinely exceeds $30 on average, regardless of base rate. We operate a pooled-tip house, supported by a 20% automatic gratuity, 100% of which goes to staff. Additionally, we offer 100%-paid health, dental, and vision coverage (UPMC Gold) to full-time employees, as well as sick pay at more than twice the county-mandated rate.
