Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is vital in the oil and gas industry, responsible for overseeing our financial operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with our organizational goals. Responsibilities: Oversee daily transactions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations Participate in regular tax audits and payroll operations Prepare budgeting reports and forecasts operations Conduct month-end and year-end close procedures in accordance with accounting practices Develop periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs Aid in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and industry practices Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Syteline ERP Manage large amounts of data and prioritize tasks as needed. Requirements Must have a minimum of three years of experience as a Staff Accountant Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Capable of conducting Bank Reconciliations Must possess knowledge of the General Ledger Ability to create and maintain Journal Entries Able to handle Month End Close tasks effectively Experience with Syteline ERP software is required Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred Certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is desired.
