Job Description
Our Charlottesville-based construction company is looking for an experienced mechanic to assist in managing our day-to-day fleet and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and maintains attention to detail.
REQUIRED SKILLS
General equipment/automotive/truck repair and diagnostic capabilities
Use of hand and or pneumatic/electrical assisted tools
Computer based diagnostic capabilities
The ability to complete repairs in a safe and timely manner
Work on multiple repairs at the same time if work load requires
Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment
Have a valid drivers license
PERFERED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Mig welding and fabrication abilities
Class A or B CDL
Experience in the construction industry
Hydraulic diagnostic and repair
Duties include: Perform routine maintenance and diagnose and make repairs on heavy duty trucks, heavy construction equipment and other fleet automobiles. Using electronic and physical tests to diagnose failures and repair and/or replace malfunctioning components. Perform preventative maintenance, change brakes, steering components, hydraulic cylinders, valves, electronic sensors and relays, transmissions, rear differentials and engine components. Use welding equipment, torches, hand and pneumatic tools.
