Holtger Bros., Inc. is offering up to a $3000 sign-on and working bonus for an experienced Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service utility construction equipment.
As a Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic at HBI, you would perform the important work of supporting our utility construction field employees. Our mechanics repair and complete services on vehicles and the equipment used to install and maintain the telecommunication lines that keep our communities connected. There is a continuous need for the expansion of the telecommunications industry, but our business is more important now than ever before as many people must work from home and attend classes online. HBI is a family-owned and operated utility contractor since 1946. Mechanic Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to all HBI vehicles and equipment.
Regular repair and maintenance a variety of HBI equipment.
Perform electronic, hydraulic, engine and/or break repairs.
Analyze vehicle and equipment maintenance data.
Perform annual DOT inspections. Ensure compliance to all DOT and OSHA regulations.
Complete repair and follow-up paperwork.
Track inventory and order parts when necessary.
Perform shop and yard housekeeping procedures.
Mechanic Experience Requirements:
Diverse knowledge of a variety of utility vehicles and equipment: engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, electronics, rear ends, hydraulic.
Ability to diagnose, repair, or rebuild a variety of utility vehicles and equipment (listed above).
Experience in hydraulics, electronics and brakes.
Possession of an insurance acceptable driver’s license.
Ability to operate equipment being repaired.
Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the state for needed equipment repairs.
Restriction-free Class A CDL license preferred.
