POSITION: Human Resources & Accounting Associate
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Director of Finance & Administration
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This two-part position plays a vital role in recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining WRM staff for all departments. Additionally, the associate administers financial transactions and maintains WRM’s donor database with the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality and biblical stewardship to safeguard financial resources and donor trust. Depending on skills and experience, the position may be hired as two part-time or one full-time position and is Non-Exempt.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agree with WRM Statement of Faith.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in such fields as Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Human Resources.
- Two to three years’ experience in human resources, cash handling, database management and/or bookkeeping
- Strong computer competency required, including skilled working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook & Excel. Quickbooks proficiency preferred.
- Proven ability in effective written and verbal communication with diverse constituents.
- Excellent personal time management, organization skills and attention to detail.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as an advocate for the homeless, poor, and marginalized by raising the awareness of the causes, needs, and potential of those in poverty.
- Maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WRM.
Human Resources Coordination:
- Provide comprehensive coordination and clerical support for the hiring process (post job announcements, collect and assess applications, pre-screen and schedule candidate interviews, follow-up with hiring managers, timely communication with and documentation of candidates).
- Assist with new employee onboarding, training, scheduling, paperwork, clarification of organizational expectations and benefits enrollment.
- Assist with development and implementation of ongoing and annual staff training programs appropriate to each department.
- Organize and document WRM safety program meetings, training and documentation across departments.
- Maintain detailed working knowledge of WRM policies and procedures and communicate them clearly and effectively to new and existing staff.
- Assist with periodic review, proposals and updates to WRM policies, procedures handbooks and training materials.
Accounting & Database Administration:
- Protect and secure company assets, principally cash and checks.
- Provide excellent customer service and missional engagement to donors providing funds or requesting changes by mail, phone or in person.
- Prepare bank deposits daily for donation and miscellaneous receipts.
- Take primary responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of donor database, including daily entry and maintenance of donor personal information, interaction and transaction details.
- Produce individual donation receipts for daily transactions and annual receipts for tax-deductible purposes ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide direct mail marketing firm with updated & complete donor mailing lists
- Provide in-depth reporting and analysis of database contents to Development and Admin departments.
- Assist with reconciliations between donor database and accounting data.
- Provide training and support to volunteer coordinator to ensure accurate entry and reporting of volunteer utilization in donor database.
Other:
- Participate in review process of external facing marketing information.
- Assist with special events as assigned, esp. ticket sales / donation collection.
- Cross-train to provide bookkeeping support as needed (preparation and disbursement of payables and payroll in absence of Accountant).
- All other tasks as assigned by the director of Finance & Administration.
Note: Ability to travel locally and statewide is required with limited out of state travel.

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour
