High speed laptop, uniforms, and smart phone .What you’ll be doing:A Remote Support Specialist (RSS) is a unique position dedicated to supporting Trane Controls, Intelligent Services and Connected Mechanical customers. The RSS will utilize Trane Connect and Command Center to enable/map/tune equipment analytics, view remote diagnostics, perform remote Digital Inspections and perform system optimization. Duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring critical building metrics, checking systems for operational integrity, and making small-scale adjustments to a building system program. The Remote Support Specialist is part of the Intelligent Services Team and works in collaboration with all other team members as well as customers. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical to the success of the RSS role.What you'll bring to the table: A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience Ten (10), or more years’ experience in HVAC control systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. IT/Network understanding – knowledge of IP/subnet/gateway and DNS importance. Ability to communicate effectively with other IT professionals. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations. Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required. Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner. Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact. Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure: Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt. Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties. Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction. Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands. Must be able to reach your hands over your head. Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours. This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs. Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less. Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal. Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50 feet +. This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.Base Compensation Range is $38/hr - $50/hr+ (This does not include overtime)Disclaimer: This hourly range is based on US national averages.
