Small, well-established business in Watsonville seeking local, experienced payroll contractor or service to run bi-weekly payroll for our office (14-18 employees). Previous experience running payroll/tax reports/W2s using QuickBooks is required. Contract position with requirement of coming into our office 3 times/month to audit time clock.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
-Audit time clock
-Track and report employee PTO/Sick days
-Set 401K contributions, healthcare premiums and wage garnishments amounts in QB
-Process payroll in QB; deliver printed checks to our office by 5pm Thursday
-Calculate termination checks on as needed basis (additional charge ok)
-Process federal and state quarterly/annual tax reports and yearly W-2s
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Previous experience running payroll for small business
-Prior experience using QuickBooks (we use web based version)
-Experience using EFTPS and EDD websites for report submission
-Strong accounting background; accuracy important
-Trustworthy, punctual and reliable individual
-Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
-Pleasant and professional demeanor
-Maintain transparent, positive relationship with management and staff
