The Supervising Employment and Training Counselor is responsible for supervising, training, and leading the activities of a unit of Employment and Training Counselors and support staff who provide vocational assessment, case management, counseling, and other employment and training services to clients who are seeking to secure or improve employment. They will guide staff on a large-scale initiative that emphasizes the whole family when dealing with client case management and service provision. Additional responsibilities include:
Overseeing and staffing the Employment and Training One-Stop resource center, including receiving and guiding individuals seeking employment resources and carrying a small caseload
Leading Employment and Training orientations and workshops for clients
Participating in employee selection, performance evaluation, progressive discipline, and workflow assessment
Providing supervision to staff to support client employment and training needs
Collaborating with other Job Link and Employment and Training leaders to meet division and department goals and objectives
Collaborating with other unit supervisors and program staff to ensure consistency in messaging and service delivery
Developing, revising, and monitoring program policies and procedures
Acting as liaison with partner agencies to ensure continuity of services
Training staff on policies, procedures, and division best practices
