Contemporary San Francisco Art Gallery seeks a highly-motivated and experienced individual to be a Gallery Associate . Successful candidate must have strong knowledge of contemporary art and excellent management, organizational, and communication skills.

Required Education and Experience:

-B.A. from four-year college or university in art history

-Experience selling contemporary photography, paintings, drawings, and sculpture

-Minimum 2 years experience in fine art sales

-Excellent organization skills, written, and verbal presentation skills

-Experience writing successful international art fair applications

-Experience writing press releases and subsequent marketing

-Professional dress and demeanor

-Excellent references

-Team player

-Proven leader

-Thorough knowledge of art history

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize

-PC fluent and experience using art database and social media

-Understanding of handling fine artwork

-Experience working major international art fairs

Develop client relationships and generate gallery sales through walk-in traffic and extensive outreach, with primary focus on creating new business and developing existing relationships.

Manage daily operations of contemporary art gallery. Additional responsibilities include supervising installation of gallery shows, working with gallery owner in selection of artwork for exhibitions and art fairs, tracking inventory, and researching new artists and art fair opportunities. Also necessary is the scheduling, organizing, and working of gallery events and art fairs, and other duties as necessary.

Availability to work weekends is a must hours are Tuesday through Saturday.
