Position Summary

As the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead and coach the Packaging Maintenance technicians to assure all bottling systems and equipment function in an efficient and reliable manner. This position focuses on downtime prevention and maintaining/improving package quality, as well as developing and training the Packaging Maintenance Team. This role will create and promote an inclusive and innovative team environment. The Packaging Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Packaging Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

Operational Effectiveness – Prevent, Maintain & Repair

Using established guidelines and protocols, supervises preventative maintenance and reliability activities. Interfaces and coordinates with other departments, personnel facility management, contractors, community and local regulators to ensure asset health and availability.

In accordance with packaging maintenance/reliability strategies, standards and best practices, provides clear instruction and direction and participates in routine ongoing maintenance activities and recordkeeping to ensure asset health and adherence to guidelines, codes, regulations, requirements and overall production quality.

Provides clear instruction, direction and participates in the execution of routine repair procedures and tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant reliability strategies, standards and practices.

Monitors repairs through systems and controls to ensure work orders (via SAP) and requests are executed in accordance to established work flow to meet packaging maintenance & reliability performance metrics.

Maintenance Training & Support

Maintains and applies consistent maintenance and reliability best practices (i.e., safety programs, routine safety audits, RCM methodology and FMEA to determine optimum defect elimination strategies).

Developing knowledge of and is responsible for gaining awareness of the latest innovations, technology and trends for maintenance and reliability practices.

Identifies training opportunities, needs and facilitates training sessions for packaging maintenance personnel, focusing on skills training and development, safety practices and work standards.

Supports operations by identifying and reviewing failures, downtime and lost production and partners with more senior team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and/or determine acceptable risk tolerance for bottling production.

Promotes a culture that builds, operates and maintains equipment that is operationally sound, safe and reliable. Focuses on improving work execution practice to ensure the right work is being done right.

People & Budget Management

Responsible for the people management of the Packaging Maintenance department including recruiting, retention, development and engagement of team for three shifts.

Responsible for providing written annual reviews to the Packaging Maintenance team.

Responsible for the appropriate scheduling and delegation of activities for a team of maintenance & reliability employees and 3rd party contractors.

Establishes and manages Packaging Maintenance budget. Has responsibility for a subset of cost control of repairs and maintenance and also maintenance labor and parts.

Project Planning, Contractor & Vendor Management

Manages ongoing Packaging Maintenance and reliability related projects (i.e., asset reliability and defect elimination) utilizing general knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices and procedures.

Participates in capital project planning, maintainability design, cost estimation, tracking and payback justification.

Assists and provides recommendations on selection of contractors/vendors. Supports Bottling Maintenance vendor issues and contract administration.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience of 5+ years.

Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using formal techniques and failures.

Experience in high speed manufacturing, food processing, or related field.

Working knowledge of mechanical systems, PLC controls, and pneumatics.

Compliance experience with OSHA, EPA, PSM and other codes/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years’ experience in maintenance leadership, planning or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with CMMS systems – SAP preferred.

Certified Reliability Maintenance Professional (CMRP) Certification.

Experience using reliability maintenance centered techniques, root cause analysis, LEAN Six Sigma to create a proactive work environment that is focused on continuous improvement at the best cost.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods

Job Area Operations and Production

The salary range for this role is:

$78,800.00 - $118,200.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
