Seeking experienced Legal Secretary to provide legal assistance to a busy general practice for a solo practitioner in Pinecrest. Must have exceptional organizational skills, be detailed oriented, and pro-active. Must be dependable and able to work at a fast pace within a group, and a positive attitude is required.
Full time position. Salary commensurate with experience.
Qualifications & Prior Experience: Position requirements include: MINIMUM FIVE YEARS (5) YEARS AS A LEGAL SECRETARY (time does not include as a receptionist working in a law firm), with general practice background a must. Areas include probate, estate planning, guardianships, corporate planning, contracts, real estate, property management, and business transactions. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Fluent in English is a required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
Duties:
Work closely with attorney on diverse subject matters and reporting to attorney on a daily basis.
Daily hands-on review of many files and does so quickly and efficiently.
Tracking client files/case load and reporting to attorney with status daily.
Meeting with Clients to review files and documents
Prepare various types of pleadings/motions, and correspondence
Review and prepare contracts and agreements
Prepare files for billing department
Schedule appointments and maintaining calendar. Inputting data.
Filing pleadings with the Clerk of the Court via E-File, Odyssey, Court MAPP
Assist with answering phones and taking accurate messages, filing and general office duties
Skills: Fast and accurate typing (60wpm+), Computer Literate, Professionalism, Informing Others, Planning, Reporting, Communication Skills - with the attorney and in a group environment, Scheduling, Multi-tasking, knowledge of law, People Person, and Positive Attitude.
