Vacancy caducado!
We are a couple looking for a caregiver who can work on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 5 PM for a total of 7 hours a week. However, our other caregiver often calls out due to health problems so we would like you to be available to fill in for her when she can’t be here. I can't guarantee any more than the 7 hours though. The hours for days you would be filling in are flexible since I would be calling you in after I know she's not coming in the morning.
I am Peggy, and we are a disabled married retired couple. My husband, Eric, is a below the knee amputee on his right leg and uses a manual wheelchair. He can mostly care for himself, but may need occasional assistance with reaching things, etc. I have a progressive neuromuscular disease. I am completely dependent on others for all my needs.
You will be paid by Medicaid every two weeks which pays $15 an hour. You will be paid by GT Independence. They will require you to pass a level 2 background check and fingerprinting unless you already have had one in the last five years.
I would also ask for the following qualifications:
While the job isn't that difficult, you do need to be fit enough to roll me on the bed. You do not have to lift me as I have an electric ceiling lift for that. I weigh 156 lbs.
Absolutely must love animals. There are 2 dogs and 2 cats in our household.
Non-smoker
Reliable and on time
Good driving record, your own car insurance, and the willingness to drive our minivan
Have a relaxed personality and a sense of humor
Ability to cook and follow a recipe
Would love someone who enjoys girly stuff like doing nails, hair, etc. but not required
Your duties will be any of the following and whatever else comes up along the way, within reason. I can't possibly come up with everything to put on this list so be willing to go with the flow.
Bathroom and personal hygiene care
Showering
Grooming
Getting me dressed and undressed (this is the hardest part of the job)
Getting me in and out of my electric wheelchair
Going in the pool with me in the summerI just float around in a chair float
Preparing meals and feeding me
Laundry
Light housework (sweeping, dusting, cleaning the toilet, etc.)
Run errands like picking up prescriptions etc.
If you've made it through all that and are interested in the position, send me a reply and tell me about yourself, any experience you may or may not have, what you're looking for, and when you can start working.
I do of my communication through emails or texts. If I'm interested, I'll contact you for an interview.
