Job Summary:

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities, ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with all relevant specifications, codes, and standards. The Superintendent coordinates and supervises the work of subcontractors, site workers, and other personnel to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and maintain construction schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and coordinate work activities.

Adjust schedules and plans as necessary to accommodate changes, delays, or unforeseen conditions.

Site Management:

Oversee daily on-site operations, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.

Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators.

Ensure that materials are ordered, delivered, and stored correctly on-site.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety policies and procedures on the job site, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety.

Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

Quality Control:

Monitor and inspect all work to ensure it meets or exceeds the project’s specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Address any issues related to workmanship, materials, or project plans in a timely and effective manner.

Coordinate with quality control inspectors and ensure that any deficiencies are corrected promptly.

Communication and Documentation:

Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.

Keep accurate and detailed daily logs of site activities, progress, and any issues encountered.

Report regularly on project status, including work completed, upcoming activities, and any potential delays or issues.

Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve any on-site issues that could impact project timelines, costs, or safety.

Provide leadership and guidance in troubleshooting and addressing unforeseen challenges.

Work collaboratively with project teams to implement solutions that keep the project on track.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3 years as a Superintendent on large-scale commercial or residential projects.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.

Ability to use project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) and other relevant tools.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on-site for extended periods, including in varying weather conditions.

Ability to lift heavy materials and operate site equipment as needed.

Capable of standing, walking, and moving for the duration of the workday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,878.46 - $82,950.41 per year

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed
