Job Summary
Smalls needs a candidate with line cook AND prep cook experience that is looking for a culture shift for the better. You will be splitting your time between Smalls cafe and our prep kitchen across the street.
In both kitchens you will be able to enjoy a bright, hospitable work environment as well as form a direct connection with the people enjoying the food you make and make tips!
Job Responsibilities
- Cooking and preparation of various dishes according to recipes or instructions
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Monitor food inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook/Prep Cook or similar role
- Knowledge of food handling, culinary techniques, and food safety standards
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with owner and other staff
- Basic knife skills for food preparation
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends as needed
