A campaign in Queens is looking to hire part-time Community Outreach Ambassadors to collect petition signatures for a local political candidate! This part-time, entry-level position will be an in-person and often outdoor work environment reporting to the Program Director. As a key component of our campaign field operations, the Community Outreach Ambassador will be a friendly, persuasive, and outgoing individual comfortable with and responsible for engaging in face-to-face conversation with voters.
WE ARE HIRING IMMEDIATELY FOR THIS SHORT-TERM OPPORTUNITY WITH POTENTIAL LONG TERM OPPORTUNITIES AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THIS PROGRAM.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Go door-to-door canvassing prospective voters and collecting signatures to ensure that our candidate gets on the ballot.
Reliably and honestly enter voter contact data into an online tracking system.
Report feedback to the Program Manager and maintain an active line of communication at all times during the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS
Comfortable talking to voters and able to spend the majority of the five hours/shift on your feet.
Punctual, well organized, and adhering to a dress code that includes slack or jeans (no holes) and a collared shirt.
Access to a smartphone and reliable transportation
Ability to work weekends and afternoons
MUST BE A REGISTERED DEMOCRAT IN NYS OR WILLING TO REGISTER AS A DEMOCRAT.
Prior experience with petitioning or political work is welcome but not required
