Job Description:
Assist Head Cook in preparing and serving food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements. Adheres to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.Job Responsibilities:
Set-up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
Keep a sanitized and orderly work environmentin the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Continuously check quality of ingredients
Monitor stock and replenish as needed
Duties as assigned by Head Cook
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook. Possesses ability to work independently when necessary and exhibit flexibility when needed. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes. Exhibits understanding of basic math to appropriately measure alongside displaying proficiency in reading and understanding recipes.
