Job Objectives:
Responsible for personnel management, business and contract management and customer service at Methodist Medical Center for the Plant Engineering, Maintenance/Renovation, departments. Provides leadership in all department activities. Assist unit leaders of departments as needed.

Responsibilities
Responsible for management of the Plant Engineering, Maintenance/Renovation activities.
Responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the physical plant of the hospital and its utilities.
Responsible for maintenance of all buildings, grounds, and distribution systems for the facility.
Responsible for personnel management including hiring, firing, and disciplinary measures as required with assistance from unit supervisor(s).
Responsible for meeting the Joint Commission, OSHA and State of Tennessee standards for all units within the department.
Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals for all employees and coaches employees as needed.
Responsible for customer satisfaction issues relating to all facilities services.
Responsible for preparation and integrity of operating and capital budgets for department.
Responsible for purchasing and vendor relations for department.
Responsible for working with Materials Services and Capital Equipment Committee on equipment and technology assessment.
Responsible for the development and implementation of preventative maintenance systems.
Responsible for inspecting equipment on a regular basis for quality assurance and for fire and safety issues.
Evaluates and makes recommendations to leadership for improvements to the physical plant and the Engineering Department.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum Experience: Must have at least seven (7) years of experience in supervision of a maintenance / facilities department. Experience in budgeting, contract and personnel management required.
