The Patient Care Technician position on the Rehabilitation & Neurosurgery unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.The schedule will be two 12 hour shifts and two 8 hour shifts each week. The shifts will be 7am-7pm, 7am-3pm, and 3pm-11pm, with rotating weekends and holidays required.The Rehab/Neuro unit cares for neurosurgery, neuro-oncology and in-patient rehab patients. The patient population is mostly adult, with some pediatrics or late adolescent patients. Our unit focuses on acute care patients and Neuro Progressive Care patients who require more hands on monitoring the first 24 hours post-surgery.Hourly breakdown of salary range:Minimum $17.55 - Midpoint $21.88 - Maximum $26.20MD Anderson offers our employees:

Nursing division surgical units provide care for patients that require complex postoperative nursing care, including pain management, frequent monitoring, management of complex wounds and cardiac monitoring. Complex surgical procedures, common to MD Anderson, include hemipelvectomies, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPECs) and microvascular reconstructive surgeries.
