Music and Theater Teaching Opportunities
We're seeking passionate and energetic teaching artists to join our growing performing arts program. Multiple positions available for qualified candidates interested in working with children from toddlers through elementary age.
Available Positions
1. Early Childhood Music Specialist
Program Type: Parent & Me Classes (Toddler Music & Art)
Schedule: Weekday mornings and Saturdays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Various sites (traveling position)
Format: Ongoing classes and session-based programs
Compensation: Competitive contractor rates, with potential for flat-fee blocks (3-hour blocks including transition time, setup/cleanup, and travel)
Key Requirements:
Strong, tuneful singing voice
Knowledge of age-appropriate children's songs and activities
Excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
Reliable vehicle for transportation
Ability to engage both parents and toddlers simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education experience
Musical instrument proficiency
Experience leading parent-child programs
2. Elementary Music & Theater Teacher
Program Type: After-School Enrichment
Schedule: Various after-school time slots
Location: Multiple school sites (traveling position)
Format: Session-based classes, potential for culminating performances
Compensation: Competitive contractor rates based on enrollment
Key Requirements:
Experience teaching beginning music and/or theater to elementary-aged students
High-energy, positive teaching style
Strong classroom management skills
Reliable vehicle for transportation
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Must submit sample class descriptions with application
Preferred Qualifications:
BPS-PBC approval or DCYF clearance
After-school teaching experience
Performance production experience
Multi-disciplinary arts background
3. String Instrument Teacher
Program Type: Private and Small Group Lessons
Format: One-on-one and small group instruction
Instruments: Violin, viola, and other string instruments
Compensation: Competitive contractor rates
Key Requirements:
Strong background in string instrument instruction
Experience teaching beginning students
Ability to work with diverse age groups
Preferred Qualifications:
Suzuki teaching certification/experience
Early childhood teaching experience
Small group instruction experience
