Galley crew member

Compensation and Benefits:
$17.20/Hour (Current Department of Labor Wage Determination Rate)
Excellent benefits package:
Health and Welfare benefit ($4.57/Hour) pays for health insurance after 60 days of employment. Optional dental and vision – cost is out of pocket.
11 Paid holidays
Paid sick leave – accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
Up to 2 weeks paid vacation per year after one year of employment
401k matching after one year of employment, up to 4%
Paid Life insurance: $50,000 after 90 days of employment
Longevity stipend with Board of Directors approval
Schedule: Monday – Sunday daytimes, with two days off per week. Schedule varies but typically is 10:55am–7 pm. Some weekends and holiday work required, in cooperation with other crew members.
Requirements:
A reliable crew member who works in the Admiral Nimitz Galley
Pass a TB (Tuberculin) skin test before starting work
Food Service Workers Card
Ability to pass NAS Whidbey Background check at time of hire and for duration of employment. Felonies prohibit base access
Responsibilities include:
Serving line
Vegetable prep
Beverage Bar service
Dishwashing
After-meal cleanup table service
Deli bar service
Restroom cleaning
Physical Requirements and Essential Functions:
Ability to work on your feet up to 8 hours a day, including standing and walking.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be to use repetitive motion, including reaching, scrubbing, lifting, kneeling, standing, walking.
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and routines. Must be able to work well with others.
Good time management skills. Must carry out instructions and pay attention to detail.
Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Must wear full length pants and close-toed shoes.
