Description Robert Half is looking for a Programmer Analyst who combines a real passion for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives with an understanding of software and applications programming and industry requirements. In this role, you would provide recommendations for developing or modifying applications or databases, using research and fact-finding. Analyzes user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Creates documents of functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Suggests how, when and whether to proceed with the changes
Assists internal clients with applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation that can include troubleshooting and/or education
Reviews methods of processing and recommends improvements
Builds and maintains dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
Create and test programming changes for every systems development phase prior to implementation. Write test cases and expected outcomes. Review results and verify that requirements are met. May develop simple tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May recommend acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met
Reviews and documents code problems, working with other programmers to correct them
Helps develop communication content for particular system changes being implemented in production Requirements - Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques
Proficiency in PC and mainframe hardware/software
Deep understanding of SQL
Application support experience
Visual Basic (VB) experience
Experience with Application Support
Knowledge of Visual Basic .Net (VB.NET)
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Programming language knowledge required
