Tryout: Pay is $12 per hour

In order to be hired you must do the following and show reasonable ability to learn tasks moving to the next step.

Punctual: On time.

Dress: Clean clothes, professional appearance.

Ethic: Shows initiative, stays moving, asks questions.

Base Labor Skill Requirements: Labor Pay: $12.00

Dress: Consistently in a clean company shirt, clean pants and wearing a belt.

Dependable: Present, and on time consistently.

Work Ethic: On time in the morning and getting work done and done properly.

Irrigation: Knows how to properly store glue and cleaner.

Productivity: Always being productive, continuing job progress throughout the day. Walks fast, works quickly.

Equipment: Preparation of equipment, [ensures motor driven tools (chainsaws, blowers, packer, demo saw, etc.) are properly gassed and oiled so they are ready at the job site]

Trucks: Clean up (remove garbage inside and out) at end of each day and make ready for the next day

Maintenance: Basic maint. Skills (Air up tires, grease equipment, check filters, fill trucks and machines up, etc.)

Fuel: Ability to identify the difference between gas, diesel, and mixed gas and what machines they are appropriate for.

Shop: Trash clean up, up righting plants that may have fallen over in the plant area, proper tool/equipment return to where its meant to be

Put it Back: Consistently and properly putting things back where they belong.

Proper driving ability: Backing, parking and maneuvering trucks and trailers safely and efficiently. Consistently practices wide turns and braking techniques. (2 finger braking)

Tier 1 Labor Skill Requirements: Labor Pay: $14.00

Must be and remain proficient in previous skill requirements

Proper driving ability: Backing, parking and maneuvering trucks and trailers safely and efficiently. Consistently practices wide turns and braking techniques. (2 finger braking)

Equipment Usage: Minimal proficiency on all equipment and attachments

Power Tools: Knowledge of proper usage, and maintenance. (Blowers, drills, pressure washer, etc.)

Planting: Root ball prep, proper plant height, proper use of soil conditioner, tree rings, how to spread mulch and pine straw around plant

Irrigation: Basic knowledge of how to install irrigation systems and turn them on (build valve manifolds, wire clocks, and adjust heads for proper coverage). Can properly clean and glue pipes in under 45 seconds.

Loading Trucks/Trailers: Proper use of tie downs/anchors to secure load.

Hardscapes: Able to build patios, retaining walls, mix mortar, excavate for proper grade, ensure proper slope.

Drainage: Able to operate trencher and ensure drain pipe has proper fall to ensure drainage.

Cleanliness: Helps maintain a clean machine and work truck.

Dependable: Present, and on time consistently.

End of Day: Ensures job sites are clean of trash/hazardous debris, ready for potential storms. Makes sure trucks are cleaned off and ready for the following day.

Tier 2 Labor Skill Requirements: Labor Pay: $15.00

Must be and remain proficient in previous skill requirements

Training: Willingness and ability to train new or established laborers

Productivity: Always being productive, continuing job progress throughout the day.

Power Tools: Proper usage, and maintenance (Blowers, drills, pressure washer, etc.)

Awareness: Aware of all utilities, or hazards and prevents accidents (running over concrete and breaking it, trenching through gas lines, or power lines, running over plants, damaging property of CHL or homeowner)

Equipment: Good proficiency on all equipment, has ability to run all attachments while maintaining a safe work environment for coworkers and home owners.

Tool Organization: Follows proper placement of tools onto truck

Irrigation: Able to do a new install irrigation job (wire and install clock, run zones and make sure all areas of yard have proper sprinkler coverage) with minimal oversight.

Lighting: Ability to do a new install lighting job (wire and install lights, mount transformer) with minimal oversight

Retaining Wall: Ability to do a new install retaining wall job (base course, corners, backfill, etc.) with minimal oversight

Elevation: Ability to determine elevation with a string level and laser level/transit and establish grade (cut & fill)

Staging: Proper staging of equipment and materials so things dont have to be done twice.

Tier 1 Foreman Skill Requirements: Pay $16.00

Must be proficient in foreman and labor skill requirements to be eligible for foreman position.

Communication: Properly communicates with all employees anything that may be pertinent to their position. (Purchase requests with office manager, design changes with designer, scheduling with operations manager)

Delegation: Able to delegate tasks to his crew to ensure steady production.

Leadership: Maintains leader abilities and a positive outlook.

Productivity: Always making sure your crew is staying productive.

Job Site: Designation of home base, CHL sign on every job.

Power Tools: Oversee of proper usage, and maintenance by crew members (Blowers, drills, pressure washer, etc.)

Tool Organization: Shows crews by example on proper placement of tools onto truck

SPH Sheets: Properly fill them out every day and turn them in.

Job Tracking: Keep up with current jobs; EX: You are on two jobs at a time and one of them has plants sitting there, have they been getting watered every day youre there and every day youre not?)

Final Walkthrough: Ability to walk through a job before leaving to ensure there will be no future return trip to make repairs or changes.

End of Day: Ensures job sites are clean of trash/hazardous debris, ready for potential storms. Makes sure trucks are cleaned off and ready for the following day
