North-South Delivery, a final mile logistics company, is seeking independent contractor teams for delivery and installation of appliances. Teams will pick up appliance from a central warehouse and deliver them to consumer homes, retailers, and commercial job sites. Appliance installation and haul away will be completed as needed.
Requirements
Owner: State registered business (LLC minimum) and an Employer Identification Number (EIN).
Helper: Ability to pass a background check.
Driver: Valid driver’s license with no major incidents in the past five years, must pass a Motor Vehicle Report, background check, a DOT exam or have a DOT card, and a drug screening.
Costs – There are no up-front costs for starting as an independent contractor with North-South Delivery. Rental trucks, tool assistance, and insurance coverage are all available and costs are deducted from weekly settlements.
Pay – Pay is calculated based on the amount of stops and what processes are performed at each location. Average pay is around $2700 per week per team. All deductions are made to the weekly settlement prior to it being posted. At the beginning of the contract, there is a three-week process before the first settlement will be paid out. All settlements are paid out on Fridays and weekly following the first settlement.
Hours – All teams must be on the dock at 6 AM and be willing to work until all the deliveries for the day have been completed. We will not be able to accommodate being off at a specific time each day.
Expectations – All of our delivery teams are required to work in ALL weather conditions including rain, snow, and the heat of the summer. Our warehouses are not climate controlled.
Physical labor – All positions are very physically demanding. As an independent contractor, you will be expected to walk up to three flights of stairs with appliances that weigh hundreds of pounds utilizing hand straps. Most deliveries are residential but may require lifting and maneuvering appliances up and down stairs. Every morning, teams are required to unload any remaining appliances, load their daily route, and complete all paperwork prior to leaving for their route.
