Our service technicians, the heart of our industry, thrive in a safety-first environment.Portal, or woodyard, cranes are large outdoor gantry cranes that supply wood to paper and lumber mills. This division of Konecranes focuses exclusively on these specialized and complex cranes that are crucial to the operation of our customer’s processes.This role requires extensive travel throughout the southeast, with occasional travel to the Pacific Northwest and Maine. Enjoy the convenience of real-time tracking accessible through a dedicated app on your company-issued mobile device—an innovative feature facilitating continuous learning and career development. Principal Responsibilities:· Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and structural issues on-site.· Work with a team to make mechanical and structural repairs to woodyard cranes· Report findings of repairs to customers via an exit meeting and written reports. Must be able to communicate any defects and there severity in professional manner. Consult with customers on repair and safety issues, offering recommendations for improvement.· Document findings and recommend corrective actions, including safety notifications to customers.· Produce electronic documentation of inspections using company tools. Basic computer and Microsoft word skills required. Complete service reports and other required documents accurately and promptly.· Stay updated on industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI).· Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in proper working order. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.· Follow established safety rules and procedures, including customer guidelines.· Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
