The Technical Sales Support position will assist the mid-market Regional, Divisional, Upgrade, and Inside Sales Representatives and Managers with existing and prospective customers by illustrating how McLeod’s product(s) address their business operational and technical requirements. Additionally, this position will act as a liaison between the sales and operations/technical staffs to expedite communications between the departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide functional and technical support to Regional, Upgrade, Inside Sales, and Divisional Sales Managers.
- Conduct and/or assist other sales department personnel with on site or web demonstrations of various McLeod products or coordinate gathering proper technical assistance for demonstrations, meetings, etc. when required.
- Participate in pre-demonstration process reviews (walk-throughs).
- Write up trip reports in a timely manner after each on-site trip with sales reps.
- Answer prospective customer product inquiries (via phone or email).
- Maintain an in depth functional and technical knowledge of McLeod products.
- Assist in the research of previous custom programming work for potential upgrade customers.
- Assist in ascertaining estimated scope of effort (hours) for custom programming requests.
- Conduct formal on-site process reviews.
- Assist in training of all sales representatives, especially on new and more advanced products. Participate in sales meetings as well as new product presentations & training at those meetings, as requested.
- Maintain current knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of McLeod competition.
- Thorough knowledge of McLeod Software’s Loadmaster, PowerBroker, LTL, and DocumentPower products.
- Well versed in the area of transportation operations and accounting.
- General working knowledge of I.T. environments and hardware specifications.
- Flexibility in travel schedule (minimum 50%).
- Previous extensive experience with LoadMaster/PowerBroker products or direct experience in trucking and/or brokerage operations or accounting is required.
- Possess excellent verbal and written skills along with being credible, diplomatic (good people skills), organized, detailed and thorough.

- Hours of employment are a minimum of 40 (forty) hours per week.
- Relocation to Birmingham, AL optional
- Salary, President’s Club Trip Eligibility, and Annual bonus based on McLeod’s Mid-Market team booked sales performance.
