Summary: Oversees every aspect of the standardized IT operating systems and operating system-related software within this location in coordination with the BIN IT group in Germany to ensure 100% system availability and system security.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to policies, daily workplace organization & housekeeping; health and safety commitment; personal cleanliness & appearance; attendance & punctuality plus 100% first time quality commitment. • Installing and setting up of PC hardware throughout the plant. • Installation of standard software and necessary updates which are required for the operation • Installation and maintenance of the company's servers and other computer systems. • Establish data interfaces and ensure IT readiness for operation. • Administrator of the local JIS system with daily maintenance tasks. • Administrator of the local WMS/HRS system. • Super user for LSS the Boysen resource and planning software. • Monitors and maintains EDI communications between the plant and customer. • Document control for the QMS system. • Planning for, avoidance, and responding to service outages and other problems. • Supports all IT users in troubleshooting of system and hardware related problems. • Monitors security configuration, manages allocation of usernames and passwords and administers licenses and necessary renewals. • Monitors and maintains company data back-up devices and software. • Manage, order, build, install, configure and maintain company's computer and other system related items. • Manage the company's technical infrastructure telephones, automated warehouse system, and production systems. • Admiration and documentation of cell phones, laptops and other mobile equipment according to the safety and security regulations in the handbook. • Contact suppliers for spare parts requisitioning. • IT related training of employees including creation of related documentation. • Maintain inventory overview of hardware and software. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has a direct communication relationship with the Boysen IT Group in Germany. This position also has a direct communication relationship with the customer regarding EDI communications. This position communicates with department managers, employees, and BAL office staff.COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. • Several years of professional experience, for example working with VDA norm 4905/4916 and just-in-sequence solutions • Familiarity with VMware and terminal services environment. • Skilled in all office applicationsEDUCATION AND TRAINING: • Associate Degree in Information Technology or five (5) years equivalent job experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Physical, etc.): • This is an on-call position that is responsible to help troubleshoot system during any production shift and to control the proper use of software and hardware by all employees.
