Applications Programmer Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA) is seeking a customer focused Applications Programmer to join our team in Huntsville, AL, to provide support to the Army and to begin an exciting career within DSA. The Applications Programmer responsibilities will include providing the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of software applications to meet the proponent requirements of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Missile and Space (MS). PEO MS provides centralized management for Army Air and Missile Defense and Tactical Missile Programs as well as selected Army Space programs that leverage state-of-art technology to meet Warfighter multi-domain and full spectrum operation requirements. The Applications Programmer will provide software, design, and enterprise/platform application development in the form of writing, testing, executing, and maintaining the source code. Software development may include research, new development, modification, reuse, reengineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products to meet the needs of specific client/business requirements of the PEO and its PMs Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop applications used to support the acquisition functions of the PEO including Financial Management, Logistics, Configuration Management, Program Management, Contracts Management and Systems Engineering.
  • Software development that includes research, new development, modification, reuse, reengineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products to meet the needs of specific client/business requirements of the PEO and its PMs.
  • Providing innovative approaches to strategic technical planning and solutions to overcome operational challenges and obstacles.
  • Perform the activities necessary to maintain security and application authorization, as it relates to application support.
  • Work with the security team to identify, fix, and provide information regarding resolving vulnerabilities, and computer incidents
  • Lead complex tasks, including review of work products for correctness, compliance with industry best practices, DoD standards, and Army standards.
Position Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other closely related discipline
  • Requires 5+ years of application software development; Experiences/skills should include .NET development, SharePoint, TeamTrack, Microsoft Project Server, Active Risk Manager (ARM), MagicDraw Teamwork Cloud, and Windchill.
  • Technical expertise in current and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Must be familiar with both traditional waterfall and Agile delivery methods in order to manage multiple project teams and milestones.
  • Possess knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DOD)/Army plans, policies, standards, and methods aimed at the acquisition and support of military programs and resources for Army systems
  • Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external customers.
  • Relevant industry certifications including Comp Tia Sec+
Preferred
  • Experience working in large, complex IT environments preferably within the DoD.
  • Experience with general IT security concepts, network security and software development practices/methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple teams and projects
  • Experience working within the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Clearance Requirements
  • MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET Clearance; this will be verified prior to interview. Therefore, can be considered for this position.
